What is your experience of BDSM?
Since I can remember I've always had fantasies I knew weren't normal. They weren't vanilla sex. Around the time I graduated college, I started reading The Story of O, and began thinking more realistically. I had a few maybe dangerous Craigslist hookups and then got involved in the San Francisco BDSM and leather culture. When I realized that this was something I could actually do, I was like Oh! This is why people are so excited by this kind of sex, because it's awesome and not boring.
What is your favorite part of BDSM?
It's all about the mental aspect. I see BDSM as a code of ethics, or a religion. I take it seriously, and for me, being a submissive and submission is part my identity, just as being queer or a femme is. I am a businesswoman and entrepreneur. I'm also a workaholic. So when I can be in subspace, let it all out, and submit, without having to worry about podcasts, columns, and the rest, that is heaven for me.
What are you looking forward to the most today?
I'm really looking forward to it all. As someone who enjoys this lifestyle, it's not everyday that you get to be in an enormous, cool set with all the toys and perform a fantasy. This is what we do. So I'm looking forward to playing with all the cool new toys.
