What is the experience with BDSM? Around the time that I graduated from college, I read The Story of O and started believing more realistically about the desires and had a few of maybe dangerous random Craigslist hook ups, but I then got involved from the San Francisco BDSM scene and leather culture and just went from there. As soon as I figured out that was a real thing that I could do I was like Oh! That's the reason folks are so excited about it type of gender because it's actually awesome and not boring.
What part of BDSM and the approach to life do you like the most?
It has the mental aspects. I take it rather seriously and, for me personally, submission and being a submissive part of my identity in the same way being queer or femme is part of my own identity. Also, I'm a businesswoman, I'm an entrepreneur, I'm a work-a-holic, so when I find a chance to really be in subspace and let it all go and publish, and not have to fret about podcasts and columns and the others of the whole world, that's Heaven for me personally.
What are you looking forward to doing today?
I'm just really looking forward to the whole thing. As somebody who enjoys this type of life style, that you do not get the opportunity everyday to become in a giant, cool place and have all of the toys ever and do an overthetop fantasy, which is what we do in this business. Therefore I'm excited to play all of the cool toys.
